Depth information, image acquisition and generation.Development of machine vision applications using body tracking and Azure Cognitive Service.
* Azure Kinect DK itself can be used without Cognitive Service.Nor is Cognitive Service a dedicated platform for Azure Kinect DK.

For developers?

The developer documentation and platform are very rich. The availability of Microsoft resources is great.Also, the Japanese documents are extensive, so the psychological hurdles are low?

What I found out by using

As hardware, Azure Kinect DK has outstanding performance compared to similar 3D camera products. The RGB camera supports 4K, and also has an IMU and an omnidirectional microphone.It's not that it can't be used like any other 3D camera, but its usage may not be what Microsoft intended (IR performance isn't much different from other products).After all, it seems that it is expected to play a role like a priming for using Azure Cognitive Service.Although it has high performance, it is a product with service.
Although it has not been released in Japan as of December 2019, 12, the AC adapter has a PSE mark, and it is expected that it will be officially released in Japan.
