Video surveillance / access control machine

We asked our customers about a machine for using the management software "Axis Camera Station" that monitors video and controls access.A total of 24 cameras are connected, and it is planned to operate 24 hours a day.

As a result of considering that the CPU has 8 cores and 16 threads specifications and the conditions of 24-hour operation, we selected an Embedded product for industrial use.In addition, we have received a request for 4K triple monitor (3 screen) output, so we have selected the A4 with 2000 Mini DisplayPort ports as the video card.Relatedly, the 350W power supply made by Nipron, which is used as standard in the same system configuration, does not have enough capacity, so it is set to 1W, which is one level higher.

AXIS Camera Station's hardware guidelines have different specifications depending on the speed of the data sent. The configuration of this case exceeds the capacity equivalent to a client in the “up to 300 megabits / sec” class at the client-side spec level.

However, the above guidelines do not mention "HDD speed".Since the configuration of the guide is RAID1 (mirroring) specifications with HDD, storage may become a bottleneck. In particular, if a high bit rate is required, it may be necessary to change to a card-type RAID specification instead of onboard.
