We received a request from a customer involved in the development of pumps who wished to introduce a dedicated water flow analysis machine for the development of centrifugal pumps.
Specific requests are as follows.
・ The number of parallels for the scFLOW solver under contract is "4", and even if the number of parallels for pre and post is added, the maximum number of parallels is "6". ・Since the CPU temperature tends to be high when the solver is running, I want to be able to suppress heat generation. ・I want to reduce the load on the video card and CPU in consideration of the life of the hardware. ・I want a CPU with a high clock speed. ・I want 64GB of memory ・ I want you to include a 27-inch display ・The budget is assumed to be around 50 to 60 yen. |
We propose a configuration that fits your budget.

When selecting a CPU, it is necessary to pay attention to the following points.
■ Points · "I want to suppress the CPU temperature during solver execution"When"I want a CPU with a high clock speed' are contradictory. |
Therefore, our proposal is to increase the cooling capacity by installing a large water-cooled cooler.
Regarding the CPU, as far as the scFLOW official website is concerned,Parallel processing is performed with high efficiency up to around 16 cores, so, within your budgetA product with a relatively large number of cores and a high number of clocksis selected.

As for the video card, the product that the customer is currently using is the Quadro FX1800. NVIDIA T2000 is selected considering the large performance difference due to the difference in
In addition, we received the following questions from our customers.
■Questions I have heard that Ryzen generates more heat than Intel CPUs. |
Currently, AMD products generate less heat than Intel products with high-clock specification CPUs.
Also, since the configuration in this case is not an overclocking specification that generates a lot of heat, there is no need to rotate the fan at high speed with respect to the radiator. Therefore, it is assumed that it will operate at a general level of fan noise.
However, if you increase the rotation speed of the fan to improve the heat exhaust efficiency of the radiator, you can keep the temperature on the CPU side low, so the key point is how to set the balance between fan sound and temperature.
The configuration of this case study is based on the conditions given by the customer.
Please feel free to contact us even if you are considering different conditions from what is posted.
