A customer involved in earthquake research consulted us about an analysis machine.
At present, the following analyzes are planned, but I have heard that there is a possibility of conducting geothermal system simulations in the future.
・Spectral analysis of seismic motion ・Interference SAR analysis ・GIS |
In addition, the specifications and conditions you requested are as follows.
・CPU: Core i9-10900K (3.7GHz 10 cores) |
The GIS you are using is "QGIS", and we are planning to do only superimposition of maps without performing very advanced processing.
The customer contacted us saying, "I don't know how much video card is required for the processing we are envisioning, but I think a low-end product would be fine."
Based on these assumptions, we propose the following configuration.
CPU | Core i9-13900K (3.00GHz 16 cores) |
memory | 64GB |
Storage 1 | 500GB SSD S-ATA |
Storage 2 | 1TB SSD S-ATA |
Video | Nvidia T400 |
network | on board (2.5GBase-T x1) Wi-Fi x1 |
Housing + power supply | Middle tower case + 850W |
OS | Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64 bit |
We were told that the memory capacity of 32GB or more would be required for the assumed interferometric SAR analysis work, so we have doubled the memory capacity to 64GB as the initial capacity. This configuration can be expanded by an additional 64GB, so it supports a maximum memory capacity of 128GB.
When using GIS, a certain level of specifications may be required for the video card.
The QGIS you plan to use is not software that requires high specifications, and the video card is not important, so it is configured with a minimum card added.
However, recent onboard video has the same ability as a low-end video card several years ago, so if QGIS is not the main use, try using it with onboard video output once, and the processing performance seems to be severe. I think you should consider adding a video card.
The configuration of this case study is based on the conditions given by the customer.
Please feel free to contact us even if you are considering different conditions from what is posted.
