Machine for FEM analysis

A customer involved in research on construction technology consulted us about a machine for FEM analysis.
The conditions for consideration are as follows.

・We plan to use Nastran for the solver and Patran for pre-post.
・Prioritize analysis speed over graphics
・Storage: SSD 512GB or more
・OS: Windows 10
・Budget: About 60 million yen

When using Nastran or Patran, we have received a request to explain if there are any differences between Intel CPUs and AMD CPUs.

Based on the information you provided, we proposed the following configuration.

【Main Specifications】

CPU AMD Ryzen9 7950X (4.50GHz 16 cores)
memory 128GB
storage 1TB M.2 SSD
video Nvidia RTX A2000
network on board (2.5G x1 10/100/1000Base-T x1) Wi-Fi x1
Housing + power supply Tower type housing + 850W
OS Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

Assuming a budget of 60 yen, we chose Ryzen, which has a large number of cores, because it is difficult to use Xeon.

The overall specs are designed with a balance in mind, keeping in mind your budget.
Since we have selected the highest-end CPU among products of the same type, if you want a higher-spec CPU, you will need to review the entire system, including your budget.

In addition, in the operating environment of Nastran and Patran, the CPU must be an "Intel processor or compatible machine", so the difference between Intel and AMD will not affect operation.

The configuration of this case study is based on the conditions given by the customer.
Please feel free to contact us even if you are considering different conditions from what is posted.
