A customer who develops turbomachinery consulted us about a PC for performing fluid analysis using FINE/Turbo and FINE/Open with OpenLabs. The conditions for consideration are as follows.
・CPU: 28 cores / 56 threads or more Clock is 2.70 GHz or more |
Based on the information you provided, we proposed the following configuration.
[Main use]
CPU | Xeon Gold 6326 (2.90GHz 16 cores) x2 |
memory | 512GB REG ECC |
Storage 1 | 1TB M.2 SSD |
Storage 2 | 8TB HDD S-ATA |
video | NVIDIA T1000 4GB |
network | On Board (1000Base-T X2) |
Housing + power supply | Tower type housing + 1000W |
OS | None |
Others | TPM module |
This is an estimate for a configuration with 2 CPUs and a total of 32 cores.
In the case of 2 CPUs, it is best to configure 16 memory modules, so 32 16 GB modules are used.
If cost reduction is a priority, it is possible to introduce a 32GB module x8 configuration on the assumption that the memory bandwidth will drop, and then add more later. In that case, since the speed is increased by accessing 8 memories in parallel, it is basically necessary to unify the memory to be added with the same model number.Regarding cost adjustment, we will consider it according to the factors that the customer attaches importance to.
For 4K screen output, a card such as the T400 can be used, but if the model for analysis has many elements, the performance of the video card may be insufficient. We chose the T3 assuming that it will run 1000D models, but depending on the actual operation method, it is possible to reduce costs.
The configuration of this case study is based on the conditions given by the customer.
Please feel free to contact us even if you are considering different conditions from what is posted.
