Fluid analysis machine using parallel calculation

A customer involved in food research and development asked us to install a workstation that runs Ansys Fluent as fast as possible.

The condition is that you can use your NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000, and we hear that there is a possibility of installing a total of two graphics cards in the future.
Considering future expandability, we would like the power supply capacity to be the maximum capacity in a 100V environment.
The machine's capacity and stability are more important points than cost, and other conditions are as follows.

・CPU: Capable of parallel calculation with 128 cores
・ Memory: 128GB
・Storage: 2TB M.2 SSD, 8TB S-ATA HDD
- Housing: as small as possible
・Power supply: Maximum capacity in 100V environment
・OS: Windows 11 Pro
・Software used: Ansys Fluent ver.2022R2

Based on the conditions you asked us about, we proposed the following configuration.

CPU AMD Ryzen ThreadripperPRO 5995WX (2.70GHz 64 cores)
memory 256GB REG ECC
Storage 1 2TB M.2 SSD
Storage 2 8TB HDD SATA
video NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 (supplied item)
network on board (10GBase-T x2/Wifi 6E)
Housing + power supply Middle tower type housing + 1500W
OS Microsoft Windows 11 Professional 64bit

AMD EPYC and OS compatibility

When installing 128 cores, it is necessary to use EPYC, but EPYC is not compatible with Windows 11 Pro.
Windows Server supports this, but since the license is based on the number of cores, the OS becomes extremely expensive.

AMD Ryzen ThreadripperPRO compatible with Windows 11

Therefore, we introduced a configuration equipped with AMD Ryzen ThreadripperPRO 11 series that is compatible with your desired OS, Windows 5000 Pro.
AMD Ryzen ThreadripperPRO 5995WX is a 64 core/128 thread product, so it is possible to perform 128 parallel calculations in thread units.

The power capacity is 1500W.
In addition, 1500W is the maximum output when used in a 200V environment, and the maximum output is about 100W in a 1300V environment.
Additionally, this configuration allows for the installation of two graphics cards.

The configuration of this case study is based on the conditions given by the customer.
We will flexibly propose machines according to your conditions, so please feel free to contact us even if you are considering different conditions than what is listed.
