Swiss companies Pix4D SA offers photogrammetry software for a variety of purposes.
On this page, we will introduce two of these products: "PIX4Dfields," a product specialized for crop analysis and precision agriculture, and "PIX4Dmapper," a basic product for general-purpose use.
We will introduce what each product can do specifically, and what other software is required to use them, and conclude with aIntroducing the "PIX4D turnkey system"Please refer to it.
What is a turnkey system:
A "TurnKey System" is a system that is built with the optimal configuration to achieve a specific purpose, and is also pre-configured.Just turn it on (TurnKey) and you can start using it right away" refers to a system that is delivered in a "
In today's world where speed is becoming more and more important, "time performance" has become one of the most important issues in the field of research and development, even more so than "cost performance." TKS (Turnkey System), which R&D parties can start using immediately, is one of the services that embodies Tegara's philosophy of "helping to accelerate research and development."

PIX4Dfields / PIX4Dmapper features
PIX4D fields と PIX4Dmapper Both are advanced aerial image analysis software that can create precise maps and 3D models using image data acquired by drones, etc.
PIX4Dfields is primarily focused on agriculture and is used to monitor crop health and growth, while PIX4Dmapper is an all-in-one analysis tool used in many different fields, including civil engineering, surveying, environmental protection and urban planning.
PIX4D fields Examples of features
Real-time analysis | Rapid on-site processing of drone-acquired images for immediate assessment of crop health (available offline) |
Multispectral Analysis | Use different wavelengths of light to get a detailed view of your crop (requires a multispectral camera) |
High-precision mapping | Supports precise agricultural management by mapping crop growth, pest and disease occurrence, irrigation conditions, etc. |
Customizable reports | Customize the data you want to see and generate intuitive reports |
PIX4Dmapper Examples of features
High-precision 3D modeling | Create high-resolution 3D models and topographical maps (DEM) to analyze detailed structures and terrain. |
Orthomosaic Creation | Georeference aerial images to create accurate, distortion-free orthomosaics (maps) |
Generation of DSM (Digital Surface Model) and DTM (Digital Terrain Model) | Create a DSM (digital surface model) that contains the features of what exists on the Earth's surface, and a DTM (digital terrain model) that shows only the shape of the terrain. |
Automated workflow | Processing proceeds automatically, making it easy to obtain analysis results. |
Flexible Data Output | It is possible to output data in a variety of formats, and it is highly compatible with other GIS software and platforms. |
PIX4D Processing Flow
Below we will introduce a simple flow of processing aerial images acquired by a drone.
STEP.1 Image acquisition
Aerial photographs of the target area are taken using a drone. The images can be taken in a variety of formats depending on the subject of analysis and purpose.
PIX4Dfields / PIX4Dmapper Examples of importable data
- RGB Images
- Multispectral imagery
- Thermal imaging
*You will need to have a camera capable of taking each image.
STEP.2 Analysis process
The images are then imported into software for analysis, for example PIX4Dfields to analyze crop health, or PIX4Dmapper to generate detailed 3D models and topographical maps, with automated image registration, point cloud generation and mesh creation.
STEP.3 Data Output
Once the analysis is complete, data will be output according to your needs.
PIX4Dfields / PIX4Dmapper Output data example
PIX4D fields | PIX4Dmapper |
---|---|
Orthomosaic | 3D model |
Vegetation Index Map (NDVI Map) | Point cloud (point cloud data) |
Zonation map (Zoning map) | Orthomosaic |
Prescription map (application rate allocation map function for pesticides, etc.) | DTM/DEM |
Custom reports summarizing analysis results | DSM |
Thermal Map |
STEP.4 Data sharing and integration
Exported data can be shared and integrated with other software and platforms for further analysis, visualization and project management, and the cloud-based platform allows for data sharing and collaboration within teams.

It can be difficult to prepare everything you need for PIX4D...so if that's you, we recommend "Tegara TKS"!
As we have introduced so far,PIX4D fields , PIX4Dmapper To use this service, you will need the PIX4D software (license) appropriate for your purpose, a drone for aerial photography, a drone-mounted camera appropriate for the images you want to capture, and a PC that meets the hardware requirements of the recommended operating environment to process the captured images.
It would be a lot of work to prepare each of these items one by one, but Tegara Corporation's TKS Division provides a complete set of all the necessary items as a "Turnkey System (TKS)" that is ready to use for crop analysis and 4D model creation using PIX3D as soon as it arrives.

[An example of Tegara's TKS]
PIX4Dfields turnkey system
PIX4Dfields and domestic drones help analyze crops and vegetation
* PIX4Dfields is given as an example, but we can also provide TKS for PIX4Dmapper and other licenses.
