Space-saving workstation compatible with Nanopore MinION Mk1D

We were consulted about introducing a desktop PC that meets the recommended requirements for the Oxford Nanopore MinION Mk1D.
The OS is Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, with 32GB of memory, 2TB SSD storage, an Intel i7 (12 cores or more) CPU, and an NVIDIA RTX 5090 or laptop GPU.
The budget is within 47 yen, and compact installation is prioritized over expandability.

GPU selection and budget adjustment

We have considered a configuration that meets the recommended requirements.
If you choose the RTX 5090, it will cost significantly more than your budget of 47 yen.
Therefore, in this proposal, we have selected the GeForce RTX 5060Ti (16GB), which meets the minimum requirements of the Oxford Nanopore MinION Mk1D.
The CPU is Intel Core Ultra 7 (8+12 cores), with 32GB of memory and 2TB SSD storage.
This configuration strikes a balance between performance and budget.

Adoption of a compact housing

The dimensions are 210mm wide x 474mm high x 427mm deep, allowing for comfortable operation even in limited spaces.

However, due to the constraints of the chassis size and airflow design, we do not recommend installing high-power GPUs that generate a lot of heat or GPUs with large card sizes.
If you prioritize high GPU performance, you will need a larger case that can ensure sufficient airflow.
