[1] Plastic bolt part
Loose removable black plastic bolts on the side of the recorder for mounting an optional acoustic microphone allow water to penetrate (common for Mini and Mini Bat)
[2] Label part
Water penetrates from the label of the ultrasonic recorder on the side of the Mini Bat recorder.

Bubble test method (stoneKenWater application method)
The bubble test is a flood test using soapy water. Stones on the bolts and labels of the inspected object (Song Meter Mini / Song Meter Mini Bat)KenApply water and stoneKenWith the bulge of waterThis is a method to determine a leak. Check for water intrusion by leaking a small amount of air.
Please check the bubble test method video and check if there is a risk of water ingress with the recorder you purchased.
About bubble test of plastic bolt
(1) Prepare soap water with neutral soap and water. The soap water has a very small capacity as it only immerses the plastic bolts.
(2) Soak the plastic bolt part in the soap water of (1) for a few seconds.
(3) Apply pressure to the main body of the recorder and check for bubbles (air leakage).
(4) If bubbles appear, there is looseness in the plastic bolt.
Please proceed with the RMA* procedure. We will send you a repair O-ring. Attach the O-ring and re-tighten the plastic bolt.
About bubble test of label part
(1) Prepare soap water with neutral soap and water. The volume of soap water required is small for application or spraying.
(2) Apply soap water to the label part. Apply the soap water soaked in a brush or brush without squeezing it, or spray the soap water as it is and soak it.
(3) Apply pressure to the main body of the recorder and check for bubbles (air leakage).
(4) If bubbles appear, there is slack in the label.
It will be repaired by the manufacturer. We apologize for the inconvenience, but proceed with the RMA* procedure.
