Photogrammetry software "Photogrammetry" handled by UniposPhotoModelerWill introduce
PhotoModeler is a product that can be used by beginners and professionals, from simple projects using a few photos to large-scale projects using a large number of photos.
Photogrammetry is a method of measuring distance and depth from a photo. You can create a 2D / 3D model with a simple operation without any knowledge of surveying.Photos taken with a general digital camera or smartphone can also be used, and it is attracting attention because it is easy and highly accurate. |

What is Photo Modeler?
Photogrammetry software that creates 2D / 3D models from photos taken with a camera.
By shooting an object from multiple angles, it is possible to acquire distance and depth data from parallax and create a 2D / 3D model.
Depending on the scale and type of project, advanced equipment such as drones and high-definition cameras may be required, but if it is a simple project, it is possible to measure with familiar equipment such as digital cameras and smartphones.
There is also a method of using a 3D camera to measure depth and distance, but the usage environment of the 3D camera is limited, such as being unable to shoot outdoors or measure long distances.
Photogrammetry, which measures from photographs, can be used in various scenes with few restrictions on the shooting environment.
Areas of use of PhotoModeler
PhotoModeler can be used for various purposes.
Fabrication and Manufacturing
You can create parts and products that are perfect for items that do not have drawings or that are difficult to measure, such as ship sails and awnings.
Public Safety and Forensics
You can quickly record the scene and evidence of an accident or incident. It is also possible to handle additional investigations after the on-site verification is completed.
Engineering, Architecture, and Surveying
Modeling existing buildings and products will help you understand the structure. It is also used for reverse engineering, stress, and deformation analysis.
Engineering and Surveying
Since it can be grasped three-dimensionally without touching the object, it is suitable for surveys that require the maintenance of the object.

How to create a 2D / 3D model with PhotoModeler
PhotoModeler takes multiple images of the object you want to model and models the object by making the parts common to the images into a point cloud (Point Cloud).
There are four ways to make the software recognize the parts common to images.
manual marking
This is a method to manually specify the points common to each image.
- Ideal for modeling well-defined geometric shapes
- Since the points are specified manually, deviations are likely to occur.
Automated Coded Targets
To the objectDedicated marker This is a method of shooting with (sold separately) attached. The software will automatically detect the markers in the image.
- Ideal for modeling curved surfaces and uneven surfaces where it is difficult to find characteristic points
- High accuracy and points do not shift
Smartmatch
This is a method in which the software automatically detects features that are common to multiple images.
- The texture of the surface can be reproduced
- Ideal for a wide range of 3D modeling using aerial photographs
- Many images with high multiplicity are required (multiplicity is 60% or more)
- When creating an ortho image (an image that looks like a map from directly above any part), it is desirable to take an image taken vertically from the same altitude.
